ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION
The Engineering and Construction wing of the Group is an acknowledged leader in the construction of multi-purpose River Valley and Hydropower projects. It has the unique distinction of having simultaneously executed 13 Hydropower projects spread across 6 states and the neighboring country Bhutan for generating 10,290 MW power. The Group has the largest market share in the Indian Hydropower, E&C and EPC sector with having participated in 54% of Hydropower projects developed in 10th 5-Year Plan in different capacities. Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. (JAL), the flagship company of Jaypee Group, has a strong project implementation track record as a hydroelectric power construction company and has participated in projects that have added 8,840 MW of hydroelectric power capacity to the national power grid from calendar year 2002 through calendar year 2009.
POWER
Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL) is the power vehicle of the Jaypee Group. It has operational assets of 1700 MW that include the 300 MW Baspa - II , the 400 MW Vishnuprayag Hydropower Station and 1000 MW Karcham – Wangtoo Hydropower Project and is the largest hydropower producer in the private sector in India.
The Group is implementing two projects in Arunachal Pradesh , the 2700 MW Lower Siang and 500 MW Hirong. JPVL has also extended into implementation Agreement with Government of Meghalaya to set up 270 MW Umngot and 450 MW Kynshi Stage –II hydro power projects.
CEMENT
Jaypee Group is the 3rd largest cement producer in India. The Group started with one million ton plant in 1986 and within 25 years reached to an installed capacity of 21.3 MnTPA, including 2.2 MnTPA joint venture with Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a first for a company in India. The company is in the midst of capacity expansion of its cement business in Northern, Central, Western and Southern parts of the country and is slated to be a 41.40 MnTPA by FY-13 with captive thermal power plants capacity totalling 702 MW.
The cement production facilities are located in the fastest growing states of the country in North India – Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The rapid expansion in West, East and South India will make the company a pan- India Cement Player. The Group has a joint venture with SAIL under which two plants are being set up at Bhilai (Installed Capacity 2.2 MnTPA) and Bokaro (Installed Capacity 2.10 MnTPA).
HOSPITALITY
The Group’s hospitality business owns and operates 6 properties spread across New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The 4 Five Star Hotels, two in New Delhi and one each in Agra and Mussoorie have a total capacity of 644 rooms. Another 5 star luxury with state-of-the-art resort and SPA has been set up in collaboration with SIX SENSES at Greater Noida with 170 living spaces. Apart from this, Jaypee Delcourt at Greater Noida has comfortable deluxe rooms, multiple dining options, state-of-the-art wellness centre and a promenade of lifestyle stores indeed making it a viable destination for corporate, entrepreneurs, expats business and leisure stays.
REAL ESTATE AND EXPRESSWAYS
The Group is a pioneer in the development of India’s first golf centric Real Estate. Jaypee Greens - a world class fully integrated complex consists of an 18 hole Greg Norman Golf Course. Stretching over 452 acres, it also includes residences, commercial spaces, corporate park, entertainment and nature in abundance. Jaypee Greens also launched its second project in Noida in November 2007. India’s First Wish Town, is an Integrated Township spread over 1162 acres of land comprising one 18 hole and two 9 hole golf facility and world class residences.
The Group is constructing 165 km long 6 lane Yamuna Expressway project from Noida to Agra and ribbon development on 6175 acres at five locations along the expressway for commercial, industrial, institutional, residential and amusement purposes, will also be undertaken as an integral part of the project.
SPORTS
Established in October 2007, Jaypee Sports International Ltd. (JPSI), Is a subsidiary of Jaiprakash Associates Limited JPSI). IS has developed India’s premier motorsports destination – Buddh International Circuit (BIC) – at Greater Noida, near India’s capital city New Delhi. BIC hosted India’s first ever F1- Grand Prix in 2011 and 2012 to a full house. It came in for praise from F1 drivers and other team members for being among the fastest and most challenging race circuit. JPSI, and its MD and CEO Mr Sameer Gaur, have got several national and international awards for the hugely successful conduct of the F1 races. In addition to F1, BIC will also host some other top level international motorsport events such as GT1 championship and world superbike series.
EDUCATION (not-for-profit)
Jaypee Group believes that as a responsible corporate citizen,imparting quality education is the best service that an organisation can offer to society. The Group supports various educational initiatives at all levels of the learning curve through Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS) a not–for-profit trust. Today with 28 Schools, 6 ITIs,2 Polytechnics 1 Post Graduate College, 1 B.Ed College , 1 Construction Skills Training Institute, 1 International Engineering & Vocational Centre and 3 Universities, the Jaypee education system is touching the lives of over 30,000 students.
